Who We Are
Mission Statement: We help deaf children by teaching sign language and advocacy.
Vision Statement: We make Friends of the Deaf and hearing worlds.
We are a 501(c)3, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching sign language to children and the community in order to create a world where Deaf children can live freely and without barriers. The Sign Clubs we create around the county teach sign language and also educate community members about Deaf culture.
Did you know that around 90% of parents of Deaf children never learn to sign? We work hard to end isolation and break down communication barriers to ensure that Deaf children have the opportunity to develop friendships with their peers.
We are all about making friends!!
We work with many other non-profits who serve both Deaf and hearing communities including: Hands & Voices, Bridges, VSA, Gate Communications, InterAct, Hendersonville Public Library, Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Nashville Public Library.
We have over 33 years experience in the Deaf world including interpreting, educational interpreting, teaching, and research. We are committed to creating a community where there is no distinction between Deaf and hearing… there are only children.
